本名： Robert Kelly
生日：1969年
出生地：美國芝加哥
出身於芝加哥貧民區的R.Kelly，從小憑著自己在音樂天賦異稟，與幾個好在街頭賣藝演唱而被挖掘，至此開啟了他在音樂上的神奇之旅。1991年發行的首張專輯Born Into The 90s ，分別在英國及美國獲得金唱片與白金唱片的成績。93年的12 Play，其中三首單曲your Body's Calling，She's Got The Vibe，Bump And Grind一舉攻下美國告示排行榜冠軍寶座。到了95年的3張同名專輯，R.Kelly開始嘗試在音樂創作上有所突破，其中讓人印象深刻的是他替Michael Jackson製作的冠軍單曲" You Are Not Alone"，其他跟他合作的藝人包括了Janet jackson, Tony Braxton, Whitney Houston 以及Quincy Jones 等等。
97年，R.Kelly為電影"星際奇兵"所作的主題曲"I Believe I can Fly"重新再度將他的地位推至無人可比的境界，光是單曲的銷售量便超過了5百萬張，除此之為，也為他獲得了98年葛萊美"年度最佳電影主題曲"，"年度最佳R&B單曲"以及"年度最佳R&B歌手"等三項大獎。98年的個人專輯R，收錄了30首R.Kelly三年的精心淬湅作品，從作曲，作詞，編曲到製作，R.Kelly完全不假他人之手，專輯中還有Celine Dion與他合唱的 I Am Your Angel，足稱是男女對唱的經典之一。
