我们需不需要第二个James Blunt，不管你喜不喜欢，今年夏天两位相同类型的歌曲会相继登场，他们是Paolo Nutini和James Morrison，Paolo Nutini要比James Morrison更早的推出单曲和专辑。我敢肯定他们没有一个愿意被比作James Blunt，在James Blunt成功之后，好像整个世界都和他过不去，成名自然要付出一定的代价。
十九岁的Paolo Nutini至少没有经历了像James Blunt那样的开头不顺的情况，事实上他的首张单曲Last Request已经成为了英国单曲榜的第五名，这首充满成熟味道的歌曲有着让人慢慢咀嚼的诱惑力，比起James Blunt的嗓音，Paolo Nutini的嗓音虽然听来有些粗糙，但也更有沧桑成熟的味道，19岁的他能够唱出这样的歌曲多少说明他有些早熟。Last Request的音乐录音带的场景是一场珠宝抢劫案，关心故事情节的可以看看他的MV，另一首主打单曲Jenny Don't Be Hasty绝对没有口香糖般的流行味道，更应该说是英国indie音乐的代表作，无论是配器还是Paolo Nutini本身的个人品质，同样是受个人感情生活启发的歌曲Rewind则穿上了一身民谣acoustic的衣服，伤感的音乐旋律充满了整首歌曲，有人说Paolo Nutini的现场和他在CD中是一模一样，着多少是因为他的音乐本身就没有被打磨抛光，加上他那样的现场般的嗓音，听着Million Faces这样的歌曲更本无法想象他是仅十九岁的少年，Paolo Nutini的音乐很少给人一种catchy的感觉，除了标题曲These Streets中的高潮有些上口的感觉，在几乎都是慢歌的专辑中还有快节奏的New Shoes和The Coral般的Alloway Grove。这不是一张能够带给人许多快乐的专辑，Paolo Nutini和他的音乐有一种让人想到自己伤口的力量，这是不是年轻人的无病呻吟？
